A little about my personal journey to becoming who I am today.
As a child I was an ardent observer of people – primarily family and friends. My family had its share of dysfunction and believe it or not, I am grateful. By growing up as the youngest child in a blended and then divorced family, living with an alcoholic mother, I felt invisible and undervalued. From my earliest days this led to a deep yearning for community.
Consequently, I’ve had a life-long interest in exploring being a better person and developing a personality that loves to build community – sometimes through group interactions but more often one person at a time. In the 1970s I found personal transformation through the human potential movement and it’s deeply emotional intensives. In the 80s and 90s motherhood was a transforming catalyst. In the 2000s I have been inspired by wise teachers, using my work in the world as a self-learning tool, serving in the Peace Corps while living in a village that didn’t speak English and of course, my work with coaches.
Along the way, I realized that a real sense of community begins within ourselves. For my own sense of connection I walk in nature, meditate, read, listen to inspirational speakers, and further support myself with the assistance of others – acupuncture, coaching, and a variety of forms of energy work.
In my life I have successfully navigated many transitions – out of depression into joy, self-doubt into self-acceptance, marriage/divorce, single parenting, working for myself & working for others, envisioning and creating the life I adore. It is a life-long process because as I reach a goal of who I want to be, I relish it…and then… I begin envisioning the next new dream.
It is my deepest desire to reach out to you, to work along-side you as your coach, coaxing the life you dream of living into manifestation.
When I first heard the words “Life Coach” I wasn’t sure what that meant until I had my first experience being coached and coaching others. My heart opened wide because the coach empowered me through perceptive questions and created a space for my inner wisdom to lead me to inspired actions.
She opened new places in me and I am now an enthusiastic advocate for this type of coaching for myself and my clients.
My vision of coaching is supporting you into new discoveries about yourself, your gifts, your goals and dreams. What I share with you, as your life coach:
“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”
